Led by Nicky, female vocalist, and backed up by a group of professional musicians well versed in the jazz, blues, and swing standards in the Great American song book; Sweet and Lowdown infuse an atmosphere of cool sophistication to any event. Dressed in the style of the 1940s cabaret bands, white dinner jackets and evening dress, and with attention to detail such as vintage microphones and instruments from the swing era, this band really look – and sound – the part.
Sweet and Lowdown have performed at Le Quecumbar Nightclub, London, The Mill Theatre, Banbury, Henley Town Hall, Chipping Norton Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Fringe as well as numerous Balboa swing dance festivals in the south of England.
